Everyone learns in a different way – that’s why I offer both consultations as well as bespoke lesson plans for all of my pupils, based on how they learn best. I am always ready to go the extra mile to ensure that everyone can get the educational experience they deserve, and work to create a quality learning environment in order to facilitate long-lasting learning.

I also 'hand hold' more anxious pupils, building on their self-esteem and confidence - we all need a bit of this at some stages in our life!

As a result, my pupils are more confident in their ability to pass whatever test is upcoming.

I particularly love working with children who are home educated or those who struggle to attend school, supporting each and every one of them, meeting their unique and individual needs. I am also a former SENCo and have both personal and professional experience of children with autism and SPD.

The best tutor for our son to date!

We met Beth after she was referred by another parent. We had just returned from a 2 year overseas deployment and my son (then 14) needed much intervention in math.

Unforeseen circumstances had unfortunately discouraged any progress and my son's outlook with regards to math was in dire need for some serious intervention. My son had lost some confidence in his already fragile math skills and anxiety had started to present itself more frequently.

We needed a tutor that was flexible in her approach, had an understanding of ASD,ADHD, sensory processing disorder and processing disorder and anxiety. And we needed someone who we could rely on and start from 'scratch' with mathematical techniques and problem solving enthusiasm relating to math.

Beth ticked all those boxes! She went above and beyond to help our son gain the confidence he once had in the classroom and his approach to math became far richer than previously. Our son was able to apply those skills Beth had taught him, maintain them and utilise them frequently with confidence. Beth also managed to harness the anxiety my son displayed and redirected that energy into something far more positive.

In just a matter of 10 months, Beth gave my son the gift of wanting to learn and discover more in the math classroom. We have since left the UK and returned to the USA and because of Beth, my son is now able to access a math classroom (G10/sophomore) with little to no support and holds an average of an A in his class.

We could not be more proud of our son but we also recognize full heartedly, it was all because of Beth. Beth helped our son see that with math, there is always a way!

I started to have Beth as a Maths tutor in September 2019 after not getting the needed grade in my GCSEs.

As soon as she started teaching me, it was obvious that there was great potential. I can’t compliment her enough, the way she teaches is fantastic!!

Beth breaks things down in the most simplistic forms so you can understand with ease and continue to remember the methods you have learnt. If you don’t understand something she can easily notice this and help you even if you don’t say you’re struggling. Furthermore, not only is she an amazing teacher, her northern sense of humour shines through in all her lessons and you’ll always end up laughing throughout. Also don’t forget to boil the kettle for a cuppa!!

Beth, we can’t thank you enough for all you support and help with our 2 girls... to be able to give Becky the confidence to smash her gcse maths having failed 3 times, she was at the point of giving up, but you absolutely understood her and gave her all the tools to try one more very successful time! Beth has worked with my son for over 2 years now. She is a very experienced tutor with many excellent teaching strategies to support learning. She has helped my son no end. He has had a lot of difficulties to overcome and Beth has helped to raise him from below the level for his expected age to now achieving his targets for age appropriate learning in most areas. We are very grateful to her for all her support and honesty, and will continue to use her fantastic teaching skills for the foreseeable. Beth has been teaching my son and daughter (yr9&7 respectively) since Sept 2019 and I would not hesitate to recommend her for children of all learning abilities.

Beth has taught the children Initially at home and then seamlessly to virtual lessons on the announcement of lockdown.

My children have mixed abilities, my daughter is good with numbers but finds learning challenging, Beth has patiently matched her learning abilities with the teachings and exercises she has set. Her math and English teacher has said the difference in her school work has been remarkably.

My son, who is taking further math GCSE, needed support with the extra math. Beth has prepared him for the curriculum he is studying and developing his learning. His school teacher has said that he has been so impressed, that he has been able to stretch my son during lessons as he now is easily working through the work set and that my son is confident in class and shares his learning with his classmates.
